Who has your domain, and when does it renew?

Type a domain or website address. In a few seconds you’ll see where it’s registered, when it renews, whether it’s locked, who hosts the website, where the DNS is managed and who handles the email.

Free, no sign-up. We only read public records anyone can see, and we don’t store what you type.

What you’re looking at

Registrar: where the name is rented

The company you rent the domain name from, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap or Cloudflare. Renewals, the transfer lock and moving the domain all happen in your account there.

DNS: where the records live

The DNS records say where your website and email are. They’re often kept at the registrar, but they don’t have to be. When someone says “point the domain to the new host”, this is where the change is made.

Website host and email provider

The companies that run your website and your email. Neither has to be your registrar: a domain registered at GoDaddy can have its website at Hostinger and its email at Microsoft 365, connected by DNS records.

Renewal date

If a domain isn’t renewed, its website and email stop working, usually within days. After a short grace period the registrar charges a redemption fee, and then the name can be deleted and bought by someone else. Keep auto-renew on, keep the payment card current, and make sure renewal notices go to a mailbox someone reads.

Transfer lock

Stops the domain from being moved to another registrar until you unlock it in your account. It protects against domain theft and should stay on unless you’re moving the domain.

Is this lookup safe?

Yes. It only reads public records. Your browser asks the domain’s registry (through IANA’s public list of registries, or rdap.org), the internet address registries such as ARIN and RIPE, and Cloudflare’s public DNS service (Google Public DNS as a backup). Stetera Technologies doesn’t see or store the domain you type. More in our privacy policy.
